Call for tender: Development of IOC/UNESCO Communications Strategy and Related Action Plan

The purpose of the tender is to develop a communication strategy and related action plan to assist the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO in achieving its overall organizational objectives, engaging effectively with relevant stakeholders, demonstrating the impact of its work and changing behaviour and perceptions where necessary.

The Contractor will initially develop a draft (of about 15-20 pages) and a final version of a time-bound (~3-4 year) IOC Communications Strategy and related Action Plan. The duration of the work would be of the order of 2 months. This Strategy should be scoped to fit the available resources at IOC, prioritizing the actions. The Strategy and Action Plan will be presented to IOC governing bodies in June 2016.

Programme Specialist for AtlantOS and ECOPOTENTIAL at IOC/UNESCO in Paris

Under the general supervision of the Executive Secretary of IOC, under the particular supervision of the Head of the Ocean Observation and Services Section, and in close collaboration with the OBIS and GOOS Biology project managers, the applicant will be responsible for engaging with GOOS panels and other expert groups to identify requirements for sustained ocean observation of the Atlantic, building from the basis of identified global rquirements on climate services, and ocean health; and refining these requirements at the end of the AtlantOS project based on the results of all work pacages, inter aliaPost announcement available on-line.
