The Council will be invited to take note of the report subject to the review of the Financial Committee.

REPORT OF IOC REGIONAL AND TECHNICAL SUBSIDIARY BODIES
3.3.1
Report of the Fifth session of the IOC Regional Committee for the Central Indian Ocean (IOCINDIO), 25–27 April 2016, Chennai, India
The Executive Council will be invited to endorse executive summary report of IOCINDIO session and recommendations and provide guidance on further reinforcement of the Committee.

REPORTS OF INTERGOVERNMENTAL COORDINATION GROUPS FOR REGIONAL TSUNAMI AND MULTI-HAZARDS WARNING SYSTEMS
3.4.1
Twelfth Session of the Intergovernmental Coordination Group for the Tsunami Early Warning and Mitigation System in the North-eastern Atlantic, the Mediterranean and Connected Seas (ICG/NEAMTWS-XII), Dublin, Ireland, 16–18 November 2015
The Council will be invited to endorse the ICG/CARIBE-EWS-XI report subject to review by the Financial Committee.

Eleventh Session of the Intergovernmental Coordination Group for the Tsunami and Other Coastal Hazards Warning System for the Caribbean and Adjacent Regions (ICG/CARIBE EWS-XI), Cartagena, Colombia, 5–7 April 2016
The Council will be invited to endorse the report of the ninth meeting of TOWS-WG subject to review by the Financial Committee.

Working Group on Tsunamis and other Hazards related to Sea-Level Warning and Mitigation Systems (TOWS-WG), UNESCO, Paris, 25–26 February 2016
The council will be invited to endorse the report of the Ninth meeting of TOWS.

4.1.1
Role of IOC towards implementation of the Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The Council will be invited to take note of the UNESCO SIDS Action Plan and relevant IOC actions in favour of SIDS
4.1.2
IOC SIDS Action Plan: A Follow-up to the UN Conference on Small Island Developing States Samoa Pathway Outcome Document
The Council will be invited to endorse new terms of reference for IGMETS and terms of reference for expert groups on i) climate change and global trends of phytoplankton in the oceans and ii) deoxygenation

Developments of the IOC Science Programme and Emerging Challenges
The Council will be invited to endorse new terms of reference for IGMETS and terms of reference for expert groups on i) climate change and global trends of phytoplankton in the oceans and ii) deoxygenation

IOC Participation in the Second International Indian Ocean Expedition

IOC CONTRIBUTION TO THE SENDAI FRAMEWORK FOR DISASTER RISK REDUCTION 2015–2030

This item will highlight possible contribution of IOC to ABNJ process

IOC Co-sponsorship of the Global Climate Observing System (GCOS): Revised Memorandum of Understanding
the council will be invited to approved the revised Memorandum of Understanding

IOC ROLE IN SUPPORT OF THE GENERAL BATHYMETRIC CHART OF THE OCEANS (GEBCO) PROJECT, STATE OF PROGRESS IN THE ASSOCIATED REVIEW
The Council will be invited to consider and take further action on the intersessional review of GEBCO.

The Council will be invited to consider the the follow-up to the recommendations of the External Auditor’s report contained in document 38 C/23, to improve governance by concrete measures.

PREPARATION OF THE TWENTY-NINTH SESSION OF THE ASSEMBLY AND NEXT SESSIONS OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL
This item will include a presentation of the follow-up to the recommendations of the External Auditor’s report contained in document 38 C/23, to improve governance by concrete measures.
